Meet the Visionaries
Scott Barker
Green Brothers is proudly owned and operated by Scott Barker. He has a landscape design certification from The University of Tennessee, and over 30 years of experience in business and sales.
As founder of the company, it is Scott's role to develop and enact our strategic plan that aligns a talented team upholding the Green Brothers' standard of service excellence that is distinguished by creativity, craftsmanship and caring.
Why Landscaping? My first career job out of college was partnering with my brother in his landscape business in Atlanta. It was there that I fell in love with the outdoors, horticulture and the satisfaction I got seeing a happy customer. Later, I had a career in the metal fabrication industry but in the idle time of retirement my passion for landscaping impelled me to start another landscape business. As we’ve grown, some very talented and dedicated team members have joined us and being part of this great team is really the best part of this whole endeavor.
David Montgomery
David Montgomery is our lead horticulturist and lead designer. David has a horticulture degree from Tennessee Tech University, teaches design courses at The University of Tennessee, and has over 30 years of experience in the horticulture industry. His knowledge doesn’t stop at his education - David is skilled on the job site, and has trained our team to do things right the first time.
Samantha Ellis
Samantha Ellis is a horticulturist, designer, and our project manager. Samantha has a degree in horticulture from The University of Tennessee and over 10 years of experience in the horticulture industry. She and David frequently collaborate on their respective projects, providing fresh ideas to one another to keep each design unique.
Outside of work, Samantha loves spending time with her partner and friends. She enjoys going on outdoor adventures, and frequently goes camping, backpacking, and kayaking. She also loves “nerd culture” and spends some time playing board games and video games. She and her partner have a wonderful dog and two cats that they adore.
